Unit 3: Strategy

During the former period, SWOT analysis and the 5 Porter's Forces will be implemented. During the latter period, the Blue Ocean frameworks will be implemented.

In the first month, there will be a case study, where students will use the SWOT analysis and the 5 Porter's Forces framework to analyze the competition of an industry or business. Through this, students will build the skill to recognize the need for change within a highly competitive market. In the second month, there will be an entrepreneurial prompt, where students will use the Blue Ocean frameworks and mindsets to either change the strategy of the business they analyzed in the previous case study or develop a new business idea. Unit 4: Operations

Unit 4 is about efficiency in how a business manufactures their products or provides their services. It discusses the ways a business makes efficient use of its resources so that it minimizes wastes and costs and maximizes profit. In the first month in the unit, students will explore the supply chain of a business and factors that need to be considered to decide the location of the business, and they will be able to think of improvements to these aspects. In the second month, students will focus on the process through which products are manufactured, and they can propose solutions of lean production and quality management to a real business or a project.

In the first month, there will be an entrepreneurial prompt where students will develop a new entrepreneurial idea or further refine their previous ones. This time, they will focus more on other firms with which their envisioned business can collaborate in order to minimize costs, in addition to the location that they think would be the most efficient and convenient for business operations. In the second month, a case study which describes a business' operations will be given, and students are going to brainstorm certain actions or changes that would boost the effectiveness of those operations, as well as providing logical reasoning for their choices.
